---Masaki Murata began street dancing in high school and discovered tap dance at 24 in his hometown of Sendai.

He studied tap dance with Masaru Sato in Sendai and later with Kazunori Kumagai in Tokyo. After working as a Kaz Tap Company member from 2006 to 2017, he is now performing as a solo tap dancer. He collaborates with artists in dance, theatre, and visual art, and creates solo works inspired by fragments of everyday life. His performances combine tap dance with other forms of expression.

He received the Excellence Award in the solo category at SAI DANCE FESTIVAL 2019. He has received several overseas invitations from the Fukuoka Dance Fringe Festival.

He was selected for the 19th Tokyo Heaven Artist program. At the 2024 Adelaide Fringe, he won the Weekly Award for Best Dance. He also won Best Show at Newcastle Fringe Festival 2024.
